West Side Academy for Children was started
in 1988 by Susan M. D. Weixelman,
as a ministry for families with children.
At times, this daycare has been home to over 90 children.
We provide a safe and nurturing environment in which to feel loved and cared for, and to help the child grow.
Child care can be wonderful for the socialization of children, as well as, and early enrichment for each child.
We have provided an alternative to public school Kindergarten. This private Kindergarten is full day, and provides plenty of hands on teaching for a small group of children.
Children spend a part of each day outside. When children are appropriately dressed, it is not harmful for them to get some fresh air everyday.
Susan M. D. Weixelman has a Masters Degree in Sociology. She also teaches Early Childhood Education at Pikes Peak Community College.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm. Our center participates in a USDA-funded Program, and is an equal opportunity provider and employer. The center also participates in some programs of the Department of Human Services.
The West Side Academy for Children is licensed in the State of Colorado, and has been open since 4/25/1988. For additional information, please call us at (719) 633-3535.
